Traveling expands the vision, altering the patterns of seeing. Simply being in a new environment flips your world upside down a little. Now, multiply that a hundred fold, in a situation where you can't speak the language and it's 110 degrees. You're trying to make sense of your surroundings while capturing delicate, fleeting and powerful images. Then an opportunity is presented. That is the moment when it gets sporting, the moment when a face becomes a photograph, and even a soda bottle label looks interesting. I travel to enable me to see with fresh eyes.
